Dog Whispering – Post Exercise Activities

Immediately following a regular exercise activity is an ideal time to work on behavior modification. Your dog will be less hyper and more apt to focus on the task. The exercise period will reinforce the bond between you and your dog, resulting in the dog becoming very eager to please.

Another technique to encourage physical activity is to provide the dog with a task or job. This also stimulates mental activity which is healthy for the dog and further strengthens the relationship between you and your furry friend. Teaching your dog to pull you on a sled or on rollerblades or regularly playing games of fetch are other activities that will burn excess energy and stimulate healthy mental processes.
